Exercise Tips For Busy Moms

In this article I am going to share with you a few exercise tips for busy moms. Being a mom usually means you spend most of your time doing for others. You get your kids to school, to practice, cheer them on from the sidelines, and help with their homework. As a mom you make sure your kids get their exercise, but are usually too busy to get yours. The following are the best exercise tips for busy moms and are designed to help you find the time to exercise.

1. Involve your kids:

Children learn early about exercise. You will be making a positive impact in their lives from an early age. Ride bikes together, go swimming, throw the ball around, you can even go and play tag.

2. Change your ideas about exercise:

The great thing about exercise is that the results are cumulative. No need to join a gym and do 2 hour workouts. Break your workout up into 3 sessions of 3-5 minutes during your day. For example; morning: do 25 squats, afternoon: 25 pushups, and evening 25 squats. Don't worry if you can't do 25 in a row. Do as many as you can take a breath and do some more. Stop when you reach your desired number. You can do 25, 15, or 10, the number isn't as important as doing it.

3. Be creative:

Exercise doesn't have to be boring. It should be fun. Find an activity that you enjoy doing; this will make it easier to stay with your exercise goals. Some ideas- bicycling, walking, running, fast paced stroller walk, swimming, and home exercise programs are great.

4. Recruit your friends:

Working out is easier and more fun with a friend. Get a family member or fellow mom to exercise with you. This way the exercise will be more fun. Plus a workout partner helps to get started and stay with an exercise program.

5. Set a goal:

Give yourself something to work towards. Keep it simple and fun. Maybe exercise 3 days per week or 10 minutes per day. Something that feels good and not overwhelming. You are most likely to keep with your exercise if it is fun, fast and fits into your life.

Remember you are your most important asset. Make the time to take care of yourself now. A happy mom is a happy family. I hope you enjoyed these exercise tips for busy moms.
